Hey everyone! We’ve all been abuzz about the Toddler Stuff pack, and why not?! It’s so adorable! The little toddlers definitely needed some attention, and I’m glad they got it. Of course there are a few things I would have done differently, but let’s jump into judging the pack so you can find out!
First off, they added a new social event called the “Play Date” which allows a host caregiver and host toddler (or several of each) to invite toddlers from the neighborhood to come play. This can get a little tricky – the adult host has to know the toddlers first, in order to invite them to the play date. While this is true of all social events, it does make it a little more difficult to set up a play date because it’s hard to meet toddlers out and about in the neighborhoods. Otherwise, I love this feature! The first thing I did was have my Berry Sims and their two toddlers invite several of their toddler friends (I had thankfully already met them) to a park for a play date!

Because the play dates take place at parks (or home lots), there were already some children and teenagers there playing around with the new items. I slightly changed and used Frimlin’s Fun Park, if you’d like to get this lot off the gallery. (Thanks Frimlin!) During the play date, you can complete social activities just like any other social event, or opt out of it completely.
As you can see, the pack also added some new gameplay items: a slide, a ball pit, and a tunnel network, which can all be combined into one gigantic structure as well. Adults (and presumably teens) can help toddlers climb and slide on the slides:
Or the toddlers can do it all by themselves!
The toddlers can play in the ball pit alone or together, although when there are two toddlers in the ball pit, they don’t interact with each other.

The ball pit has gotten a lot of flak because it is so low-res as to be ridiculous. However, honestly, I don’t mind it as is. Sure it’s a little wonky or whatever, but watching your toddlers play in it is still so cute and hilarious, and everything else in the pack makes up for this one item being slightly less-than.
The tunnel network alone is the simplest of the items, in that the only thing toddlers do with it is climb through the tunnels. However, when the toddlers are at the top section, adults and teens can “play monster” with them, just like they do with the children on their play sets.
The biggest caveat of these items comes when you use them conglomerated together. Then, the toddlers can play make believe, and adults and teens can join in on the fun! There are only two make believe options, which is a little sad, but they are so much fun to watch! Special 2D animations show up when you’re playing as the toddler, and both are adorable! I absolutely love the details of the little fish and the stars and planets everywhere!
The pack also added a few objects that are different versions of objects we already have in game. For example, there’s several new chairs (my favorite is the pile of cushions!), a new grill, a new fence and matching gate, and a new dollhouse that looks like a tree. When I was at the park for the play date, my guests played together with the dollhouse and it was so cute with the little squirrel dolls!

** Yes, that toddler has blue hair. I make CC hair recolors of the 5 non-natural hairs in the Sims 4, for toddlers and children. If you’d like to get any of them, please go to my CC section! **
Now onto the CASsets, as I call them. Unfortunately, as EA is known to do, there are way more assets for girls than boys with this pack. It’s getting ridiculous how much more content there always is for females. I wish they would make it more even! But alas, habits apparently die hard after 17 years… Anyway, there are six new hairstyles for toddlers (although I apparently missed taking a picture of one):
And then there are the outfits. OMG. I was overwhelmed by how cute they all are. I mean, it’s really hard not to make toddler things cute, so I shouldn’t be surprised that everything is adorable, but I was blown away by how much I loved all of the clothes. There were shirts with butterfly wings! And shirts with capes! And a new tank top and collared t-shirt! And skirts and shorts and pants! And DRESSES! I mean just look at how cute these are:
Possibly my favorite two clothing items from the pack are the animal hoodie (with matching booties!) and the dress with the Red Riding Hood design on it! You just don’t get cuter than that!!
Overall, I think I’d rate this pack an 9/10! We got a LOT of new gameplay features for a stuff pack, and although a lot of people were upset about the ball pit, I don’t mind it that much. The clothing and hairs are very nice, but again, I wish they would even the content out between the genders. I know you can mix and match the content however you want because boys don’t have to wear masculine objects and vice versa, but if you do want them to, then you run out of cute things for them to wear much faster than their girl counterparts, which sucks.
Whew! That was a long post, and there’s only so much spunky toddler adorableness that I can handle in one day. Oh who am I kidding, I’m off to play more Sims 4 and soak up more toddler time! Thanks for reading!
